Selected DVLA Offices to Operate Two Shifts From May

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced plans to offer extended services at selected offices across the country by instituting a two-shift system.
Effective Monday, May 4, 2026, the offices will operate until 10:00 PM daily.
In a statement, the Authority said the decision forms part of efforts to enhance service delivery and improve public access.
The DVLA noted that all payments made after 5:00 PM will be limited to electronic options.
The selected include Narhman (Near Haatso), Weija, Tema, Bolgatanga, Wa, Tamale, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Sunyani, Ho, Techiman, Kumasi, Winneba and Tarkwa.
“This initiative aligns with the Government’s broader 24-hour economy agenda aimed at improving productivity, accessibility, and convenience for citizens,” it noted.
It thereby appealed to the public for cooperation as it works diligently to fully operationalise a 24-hour service framework across these offices.
The Authority also encourages the public to take full advantage of the extended hours to access services directly, to reduce reliance on middlemen and ensure efficient service delivery.
