He Is Not One Of Us- Military On Car Snatcher In Their Uniform

The Ghana Armed Forces have dispelled assertions that one of the five suspects arrested in connection with car snatching in Buipe is a military personnel.

The assertion came after footage of the suspects being arrested showed one of them in a military uniform.

“We wish to state categorically that the suspect is not a soldier of the Ghana Armed Forces”, a statement from the GAF said.

In an interview with the CNR, Commander Andy La-Anyane reiterated that there is a law in Ghana that prohibits civilians or persons who are not of the military from wearing, selling, or dealing in any military accoutrement.

“The Ghana Armed Forces is ready to cooperate with the Police to unravel the source of the military uniform in this particular incident and to stop the unauthorised sale of military uniforms across the country. Ghanaians should be confident to provide information to the security agencies in order to nib this trend in the bud”, the statement added.

Five suspected armed robbers were arrested by the police in Buipe in the Savannah region for snatching a Toyota Camry saloon car at a residential area in Tamale.
