Police Arrest 3 Chinese, 6 Ghanaians; Seize 3 Excavators

The Police Service has announced the arrest of three Chinese nationals and six Ghanaians for allegedly engaging in illegal mining in the Western region.

According to the police, they were arrested during the wee hours of September 9, 2022.

The arrest led to the retrieval of three excavators and other weapons.

They were arrested during a police anti-galamsey operation in the Region.

“The Police, in the wee hours of 9th September, 2022 arrested nine more suspects and retrieved three excavators and three pump action guns in another anti-galamsey operation in the Western Region.”
