Otumfuo Brought Great Pride To Us; Jinapor On King Charles’ Coronation

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has expressed the sense of pride he has as a Ghanaian after seeing the King of the Asante Kingdom represent all Ghanaians and Africans on a global stage during the coronation of King Charles III two weeks ago.

“Elegance” was the word he chose in describing the King’s presence.

The coronation took place at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6.

The King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and his wife, Lady Julia, were among royal families from across the world who were invited to the event.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco, Japan’s Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko, Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and his daughter, Crown Princess Victoria, Spain’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia, Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Luxenberg’s Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, etc were among the guests.

Otumfuo and his wife were captured in a picture leading all the monarchs into the royal church- an action that depicts their superiority to them all.

They attended the event donning beautiful Kente outfits.

In his opening remarks at the launch of the Green Ghana Day on May 17, the Minister said, “It will be remiss on my part if I don’t express the great pride Otumfuo brought to us, his subjects, Asanteman, Ghana and I dare say all of Africa for the elegance and astute African royalty Otumfuo displayed on the occasion of the coronation of King Charles III.”

He added, “Otumfuo Nana Asantehene, we appreciate your outstanding leadership and inspiration.”
