Nananom and Groups Honour Otumfuo with Gifts at Awukudae Festival

Traditional authorities, faith-based organisations, members of the business community and other well-wishers gathered at the Manhyia Palace on May 20, 2026, to pay homage and honor to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, with their substance during the fourth Awukudae Festival of the year.

The occasion drew delegations from across the Asante Kingdom and beyond.

Among the traditional authorities who extended felicitations were the Benkum Division, the Kontire Division, the Barekesehene, the Abirahene, and the Zongo Nkosuohene.

They were joined by market traders from various parts of the Ashanti Region, a delegation from St. Anne’s Anglican Cathedral and a delegation from the Opoku Ware Old Boys’ Association.

Each group took turns and used the platform to intercede for the King’s good health, peace, and long life, offering goodwill messages that acknowledged His Majesty’s 27 years on the Golden Stool as well as his 76th birthday.

Alongside their prayers, they presented a range of gifts to the Palace as a gesture of loyalty and appreciation for His Majesty’s leadership.
