Mpox Cases in Ghana Hit 1,062

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reported a rise in the total number of Mpox cases to 1,062.

In an update issued on April 14, 2026, the Service said the country has recorded eight deaths and four new cases as of April 11, 2026.

Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with someone who has the infection.

The GHS continues to encourage people to protect themselves by avoiding close contact with infected persons, washing their hands often with soap and water, and refraining from regular touching of the eyes, nose, and mouth.

It has also encouraged the members of the public to report to the nearest health facility when experiencing symptoms like fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, or swollen lymph nodes.
