National Service: CUAHI Cry Over Unpaid 11 Months Stipends; Pleads With Gov’t To Adhere To Their Plea

A section of the National Service Scheme under Allied Health known as Coalition of Unpaid Allied Health Interns (CUAHI) has lamented bitterly over their eleven months of unpaid stipends by the government.

Speaking on Opemsuo Radio, the President of CUAHI, Mr. Frederick Adjei, stated that their stipends or allowance are not paid by the National Service Scheme but by the Allied Health under the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry has failed to pay their due stipends for eleven months now whereas National Service Personnel are on the verge of completing their service to the nation.

Life has become difficult and one does not know what to do calling on the government to come to their aid.

Mr. Adjei added that they logged a complaint to Allied Health to see to it that their unpaid allowances are restored and were told that their details have been sent to the Ministry of Health to work on. After approaching the Ministry, they were informed that the ministry does not have the personnel’s details to roll out the payment of the allowances. Every requirement has been fulfilled after the back and forth but has still proven futile.
