Meteors Move Out Of Rabat For Friday Match

The Back Meteors have moved out of Rabat and headed to Tangier where it will play its last group match.

They had their last training in Rabat on Wednesday evening, a day after suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament’s host.

Once in Tangier, they are expected to train at the Stadium Annex GST between 8 pm and 9 pm ahead of the match on Friday.

The Meteors will be seeking a win against Guinea to qualify for the semis tomorrow.

In their first match against Congo on Sunday, they won by 3:2- a result that angered Coach Ibrahim Tanko.

In their second match against Morocco on Tuesday, they were thrashed by 5:1.

Coach Tanko attributed the loss to fatigue stating, “It’s a deserved win for Morocco but we had a day’s rest and they had two days of rest. The players showed fatigue.”

Referencing Congo’s defeat to Guinea to buttress his point, he said, “You saw how Congo also suffered the same fate because Guinea had an extra day to rest.
