Continentally, the West African country ranks 11th, ahead of South Africa, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Guinea, Zambia and Gabon and equatorial Gunea.

Meanwhile, Morocco who ranks number one continentally is 13th globally followed by Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso in that order.

Ranking first globally is Argentina followed accordingly by France, Brazil, England, Belgium, Croatia, Netherland, Italy and Portugal.

The FIFA World Ranking, introduced in 1992, is a ranking system for men’s national teams in association football.

The teams of the member nations of FIFA, football’s world governing body, are ranked based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked highest.

A points system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of all FIFA-recognised full international matches.
