{Full Report} Proposals for Amendment of the 1992 Constitution by Constitution Review Committee 2025

The Jubilee House has published a report on the review of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.

As part of its recommendations, the Review Committee, led by Kwasi Prempeh, called for an amendment to Article 66(1) to extend the length of a President’s term from four years to five years, as well as Article 62(b) to lower the minimum age for qualification to contest for the Presidency from 40 years to 30 years.

The Committee further recommended an amendment to Article 78(1) to provide that no member of Parliament may be appointed a Minister of State or a Deputy Minister or Regional Minister, while the total number of Ministers of State must not exceed three times the number of Ministers in the Cabinet.
