Kotoko Defender Lord Amoah Undergoes Successful ACL Surgery

Lord Amoah will play no further part in the season after undergoing surgery on a serious knee injury, dealing a blow to Asante Kotoko’s defensive setup.

The right-back has been out of action since March after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during a Ghana Premier League clash against Young Apostles. Despite his early withdrawal from that game, Kotoko went on to secure a 2-0 away victory.

Before the setback, Amoah had been one of the club’s standout performers, delivering consistent displays that earned him a call-up to the Black Galaxies, with growing calls for a potential inclusion in the senior national team.

Official club statement reads: “Lord Amoah has undergone a successful surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament, an injury he sustained during our Premier League match against Young Apostles.

“The right back will now begin his recovery and rehab at the club with support from our medical staff.”

He is now expected to begin a lengthy rehabilitation process under the supervision of the club’s medical team, as he works his way back to full fitness.
