CAF League: Medeama To Fight For Survival Against Al Ahly

The Medeama Sporting Club will be grappling for a hard-to-reach survival in the CAF Champions League when they take on Al Ahly this Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The team are bottom in Group D with four points after four games played- one point adrift of third-placed Young Africans.

The Yellow and Mauves have won only one of their four games played, lost two with one draw, scoring three goals and conceding eight.

After suffering a 3-0 defeat against the Young Africans in the last game and with just two games remaining, the Ghanaian club will have to marshal all that is required to stay in the league after they were crowned champions in the Ghana Premier League last season.

Their clash against the Egyptian champions is anticipated to be a tough one as Al Ahly is leading the group with six points from one win and three draws.

Gabonese referee Tanguy Patrice Mebiame will be officiating the match with the assistance of Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue from Cameroon (Assistant I), Urbain Ondo Ndong from Gabon (Assistant II) and Cregue Fleury Moukagni from Gabon (Fourth Official).

The game will take place at 16:00 hrs.

Nebojsa Kapor’s side will take their last group match in the league away from home on March 1 against CR Belouizdad.
