CLUB FRIENDLY: Asante Kotoko Marmalize Lower-Division Side Sasaamo Panin at Adako-Jachie

Asante Kotoko continued their preparations for the remainder of the season with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Sasaamo Panin FC in a friendly encounter on Friday morning.

The game, played at the Adako-Jachie Sports Complex, saw the Porcupine Warriors dominate from start to finish, showcasing their quality against the lower-tier side.

Goals from four different scorers; Kwame Opoku, Lawson Kyei, Peter Acquah Amidu and Elvis Kyei-Baffour ensured a comfortable win for the Porcupine Warriors.

The match provided an opportunity for caretaker coach Mohammed Hamza Obeng and his other technical team to test different combinations and assess match sharpness as they continue to fine-tune the squad ahead of crucial fixtures. It also formed part of the club’s broader build-up programme aimed at maintaining momentum and improving tactical cohesion.

Asante Kotoko are currently on a three-game winless run as they prepare to face Dreams FC in their next league fixture on May 3, 2026, at the University of Ghana Stadium.

For Sasaamo Panin, who recently emerged champions of Zone 5 of the Ashanti Region Division Two League, the friendly offered valuable insight into their strengths and weaknesses as they gear up for the highly anticipated Middle League.
