KMA Revives ‘Samansaman’ With Military, Police Backing to Clean Kumasi
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly is stepping up efforts to rid the city of filth with the return of a stronger version of its sanitation exercise.
KMA announced in a public notice that the ‘Enhanced Samansaman System’ will begin on Monday, 6th July 2026. The exercise will be held every Monday to Friday between 8:00AM and 11:00AM.
According to the Assembly, the goal is to make Kumasi cleaner, healthier, and more disciplined. To achieve this, an Enforcement Task Force made up of Environmental Officers, Military and Police personnel will be deployed to patrol selected areas across the metropolis.
KMA also declared a zero-tolerance approach to sanitation offenses. The Assembly stated that offenders will be arrested and prosecuted in court immediately.
Residents have been urged to keep their compounds, streets, and gutters clean daily. “Let’s build a cleaner Kumasi together. KMA is counting on you,” the notice said.
For complaints and reports, the public can reach KMA via WhatsApp on +233 540 315 928.
The revival of the Samansaman system forms part of the Assembly’s “Clean Kumasi, Start Now!” campaign aimed at restoring order and improving sanitation in the Ashanti Regional capital.
