Kennedy Agyapong Says Number 1 Slot Signifies Victory

Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential aspirant in the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s presidential primary has stated his number one position on the Party’s ballot paper is “divine” and signifies victory.

The Assin Central Parliamentarian is followed on the ballot paper by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia who topped the Super Delegates Conference with 68%.

In a tweet, the politician said he chose the slot- the same as in the Super Delegates Conference- by “divine providence”.

“The balloting for the November 4 Presidential Primaries was held this afternoon at the NPP Headquarters. By divine providence I chose NUMBER ONE (1) on the ballot,” he wrote on X formerly Twitter on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

He furthered that it envisages his victory in the polls in November.

“This signifies victory, we shall continue to engage the rank and file of our party especially the Grassroots to ensure victory is delivered come November 4, 2023.”

Occupying the third and fourth slots respectively on the ballot paper are Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh.

Out of a total of 923 votes cast across all regions during the Super Delegates Conference in August, Mahamudu Bawumia took the lead with 629 votes followed by Ken Agyapong with 132 then Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen with 95, Owusu Afriyie Akoto with 36 votes and Francis Addai-Nimoh with 9 votes.

The NPP undertook balloting for its November 4 election on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
