26 New Cases Push Ghana’s Mpox Cases to 713

Ghana has now recorded 26 new Mpox cases as of October 10, the Ghana Health Service has confirmed.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 713.

While records show three have died from the disease, three others are on admission, receiving medical attention.

Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with someone who has the infection.

The GHS has since encouraged people to protect themselves by avoiding close contact with infected persons; washing hands often with soap and water; and avoiding regular touching of the eyes, nose and mouth.

It has also encouraged the members of the public to report to the nearest health facility when experiencing symptoms like fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, or swollen lymph nodes.

“If you notice any of these, visit nearest health facility immediately.”
