Carlos Queiroz Sends Message of Support to Accra Flood Victims Ahead of Colombia Clash

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has expressed his sympathy to victims of the recent flooding in Ghana’s capital, Accra, as the country continues to deal with the aftermath of the disaster.

Heavy rains have caused widespread flooding across parts of the city, leading to significant destruction and disrupting the lives of many residents.

Speaking ahead of Ghana’s Round of 32 clash against Colombia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Portuguese gaffer paused to send a heartfelt message to those affected.

“I want to express our deepest solidarity with the victims of the floods in Accra,” Queiroz said.

The Black Stars are currently focused on their knockout tie against Colombia, but Queiroz stressed that the thoughts of the entire team remain with Ghanaians going through this difficult period.

Ghana booked their place in the Round of 32 after finishing third in Group L and will face Colombia on Saturday, July 4, as they seek a place in the last 16.

The Black Stars will also be hoping to give supporters back home something to celebrate during a challenging time for the nation.
