HIV/AIDS is less Fatal, Says Dr

The Head of the Wellness and Preventive Services Department at Manhyia District Hospital, Dr. Mary Amoah, has stated that, HIV/AIDS is now less fatal compared to the past, as long as it is detected early and the patient receives medical attention.

In an interview with Opemsuo News Reporter, Gloria Opoku, she explained that, with the development of medications and their availability at various hospitals, experts are now able to control HIV/AIDS effectively, which ultimately increases the lifespan of patients.

She further revealed that HIV/AIDS medication and treatment have been made free of charge to ensure that it is accessible and affordable to all patients.

“HIV/AIDS medication and treatment is free in all hospitals. You don’t need money to get treatment,” she said.

Additionally, Dr. Amoah urged the general public to get tested for HIV/AIDS to ensure early detection and treatment. She emphasized that HIV/AIDS testing is not limited to adults only but is essential for all age groups.

“Refrain from engaging in sexual intercourse without protection, particularly with individuals who are not your partners,” she added.
