GES Opens 2026 Inter-Regional, Inter/Intra District Re-Posting Window

The Ghana Education Service has announced the commencement of this year’s inter-regional and inter/intra district re-posting exercise for staff seeking transfer and assurance.

In a statement to all Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors, GES Management said the process for staff seeking assurance remains unchanged. The procedure and required documents have been attached for guidance.

According to the schedule released by management, issuance of assurances to eligible applicants begins on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 and ends on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Processing of inter-regional reposting applications from the regions will then run from Wednesday, June 17, 2026, to Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

The deadline for processing all inter-regional, inter and intra-district re-postings for 2026 is Monday, August 31, 2026.

Approved applications will take effect from the start of the next academic year in September 2026.

The GES Management is urging directors to submit processed inter-regional documents to headquarters as soon as they are received at the regional level to expedite processing.

Regions are also required to compile and forward to the HRMD Secretariat at GES Headquarters in Accra a list of all staff who have been given assurance.

The Service clarified that a staff member seeking re-posting can only be released after the Director-General has approved and issued a re-posting letter to the applicant.
