Asantehene Ends Mampongten-Heman Border Dispute

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has settled the boundary dispute between Nana Apau Wiafe Ababio Sanwoansan, the Hemanhene, and Nana Saasi Ayeboafo II, the Mampontenghene.
His Majesty clarified the matter at the Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on August 3, 2026, while defining the boundaries of Heman.
Otumfuo noted that Abrade and Mampongten are separated by the River Owabe, while the same river also separates Mampongten and Heman.
His Majesty said Heman and Abrade share boundaries with Asuoabenaa, Asiafu, and Oti Akwamu.
In addition, Otumfuo stated that Bomfa and Heman are separated by the Pra Akwasi River, while Adumakaase and Heman are separated by the Akwasi Asuo Kwaku River.
“The boundaries are set and documented. When any dispute arises, we bring it here to resolve it,” Otumfuo said.
