Mahama Holds Meeting with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace

President John Dramani Mahama was received in audience by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday afternoon.

The UK Royal Family announced the meeting on its official Facebook page, noting that the Ghanaian leader visited the monarch at the Palace this afternoon.

While details of their discussions were not disclosed, audiences with the King typically cover bilateral relations, Commonwealth matters, and areas of mutual interest between the United Kingdom and visiting leaders.

He was accompanied by the Minister for Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson; the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; and Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson.

President Mahama’s visit to Buckingham Palace comes as Ghana continues to strengthen diplomatic and trade ties with the UK.

Both countries have been deepening cooperation on economic development, climate action, and governance under the Commonwealth framework.

Meanwhile, the meeting draws the curtain on his visit to the country as he is set to return today.
