Five Kumasi Central Prison Inmates Sit for 2025 BECE

Five inmates from the Kumasi Central prison will be sitting for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The candidates aged between 20 and 25 will be sitting the exams at the Bantama Centre in Kumasi.
They are among 603,328 candidates made up of 306,078 females and 297,250 males to sit for the exams across the country effective June 11, 2025.
A statement by the Ministry of Education said the West African Examination Council (WAEC) had deployed the necessary materials to all the 2,237 examination depots across the regions.
“The Ministry of Education is committed to support students to excel and wishes all candidates the best of luck.”
The examination is expected to end on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
In a message to candidates, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Alban Sumana Kingsford, said the exam was a watershed moment and a monumental step towards realizing their dreams and potential for Ghana.
“And I am not oblivious of how hard you have toiled and laboured towards this defining moment. Rest assured that your years of relentless academic pursuit will not be in vain, for hard work is the foundation for sweet success.”
“You alone have the power to make your dreams a reality. So eschew any form of examination malpractice and depend on your inexhaustible ingenuity and God’s guiding spirit. The taste of victory is sweetest and the applause loudest when you win a race fairly and squarely.”
