ECG Announces Service Lapse

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced an interruption in services.

According to the Company, its network has been affected by challenges from two its internet service providers.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public that due to a technical challenge from two of our internet service providers (Glo and Vodafone), the performance of our network has been affected.”

In a notice posted on Twitter, ECG said its technical personnel were working with internet service providers to resolve the lapse.

It is not clear which of the company’s services has been affected by the development and how long it will take to resolve it.

Last year, the company faced a challenge which deprived customers access to electricity credit for days, forcing them to stay without light in their homes.

It was reported that the ECG’s system had been hacked, however, the Company denied it during a press briefing.
