Black Starlets Arrive in Morocco Ahead of U17 Africa Cup of Nations

Ghana’s U17 boys national team, the Black Starlets, have arrived safely in Morocco ahead of the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, marking their return to the continental showpiece after nine years.
The team last featured at the tournament in 2017 in Gabon, where they finished as runners-up. As two-time African champions, the Black Starlets are determined to make a strong impression in Rabat and secure qualification for the next U-17 World Cup.
The squad of 21 players, accompanied by 14 officials, touched down in Morocco after an extended preparatory camp at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.
They recently concluded a double-header friendly against Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan as part of their final preparations.
Ghana have been drawn in Group D alongside Algeria, Senegal and South Africa in a competitive section that promises tough challenges.
The competition is scheduled to run from May 13 to June 2, 2026, and the young Black Starlets will be aiming to improve on their previous showing and fly the flag high for Ghana on the continental stage.
