The Asante Monarch, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has urged the Management of the FA Cup to identify and focus on talents in terms of training.
He said attention should be given to unidentified talents and that will fetch more men into the field.
He urged also that after identifying talents care should be given so as to prevent them from being poached at an early stage.
“You’ll realize teams in the second division perform when they play against the big teams, this tells you the shift in attention and so I urge you to be mindful of that”.
“So make good arrangements and you can raise good men to rise to the top like the Ghana Black Stars. Also others remain unidentified at the grassroots because they have no links to big men yet their skill in football is significant. There are teams elsewhere, in Tamale, Berekum, Bechem, Takoradi, Kunsu lets channel attention there and nurture them”.
“Most of the young ones leave when they realize they are not being taken care of then they end up being poached and that is where we realize they had skills, let’s help them disregarding their affiliations.
This was when the management committee led by the Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Mr. Wilson Arthur visited the King to relay information on the venue for the MTN FA finals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 26, 2022, between Accra Hearts of Oak and Bechem United.
Otumfuo said it’s an honour that Kumasi became a choice for the tournament further urging its citizens for their maximum participation on the day.
