Activities For Otumfuo’s 76th Birthday Celebration on Sunday

The Manhyia Palace has released the official itinerary for the 76th birthday celebration of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, scheduled for this weekend.
The celebration has been scheduled for May 10, 2026.
Thanksgiving Service
The day’s observance will begin with a thanksgiving service at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Cathedral in Kumasi.
The service will bring together Nananom, members of the clergy, government officials, traditional leaders, and members of the public to offer prayers for His Majesty’s life, health, and continued reign.
Dinner
Following the service, an official dinner will be held later in the day at the Manhyia Palace for invited guests.
The gathering will host paramount and sub chiefs, queens, traditional office holders, dignitaries from across Ghana, and others.
While May 6 was reserved for private purification rites at the palace in accordance with Asante custom, Sunday’s events will provide the public opportunity to join in celebrating the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool and his enduring legacy in Asanteman and beyond.
