A/R: ECG Announces 8-Hour Power Outage for Emergency Maintenance on May 6

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) says emergency maintenance works will be carried out on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, to improve service delivery.

The exercise will result in a temporary power outage in parts of the Ashanti Region.

The maintenance is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected Areas
The outage will impact Chirano, Nambro, Subri, Anhwiaso, Achease, Kwamekrom, K D Sereso, Nyinahin, Mensin Gold, Tanodumase, Koffuor Camp, Bayerebon, Ntoboroso, Adobewura, Nhwiafutu, Kotkuom, Akorabokrom, Agogoso, Anyinamso 1 & 2, and surrounding communities.

The ECG said the exercise is necessary to enhance the reliability and quality of power supply in the affected areas.

Public Notice
The company has apologised for the inconvenience the shutdown may cause to residents, businesses, and institutions in the affected localities.

Customers are advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled outage and to treat all electrical installations as live during the period.
