Guinness World Record Holder Sharon Padi Passes On

Ghana has lost one of its brightest young achievers following the passing of Guinness World Record holder Sharon Dede Padi, affectionately known as “Padiki.”
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) confirmed the news in a statement, describing the artist as a beacon of resilience, determination, creativity, and youthful excellence.
She was more than a Guinness World Record holder.
Her remarkable achievement brought pride not only to herself and her family but also to Ghana, the Authority said in a statement signed by Chief Executive Officer, Maame Efua Houadjeto.
According to the GTA, Padiki inspired countless young people through her courage to dream big and challenge limits.
Her journey, it noted, proved that with passion, perseverance, and hard work, the impossible can indeed become possible.
Her untimely departure has been described as a painful loss to the tourism and creative ecosystem and to the nation as a whole.
“Ghana has lost one of its brightest ambassadors whose story embodied the spirit of innovation, excellence, and the boundless potential of our people,” the Authority stated.
Madam Houadjeto, together with Management and staff of the GTA, extended heartfelt condolences to Padiki’s family, friends, loved ones, and all who were touched by her inspiring journey.
“We pray that the Almighty grants them strength, comfort, and peace during this incredibly difficult time,” she said.
The Authority added that although Padiki’s voice has been silenced and her journey on earth ended far too soon, her legacy will continue to inspire generations of Ghanaians to pursue greatness with courage and unwavering determination.
“Her impact will remain etched in our hearts, and her memory will forever be cherished. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
