“Good Attitude and Good Things Happen,” Dan Gaspar Counsels Benjamin Asare

Black Stars goalkeepers’ coach Daniel Gaspar has urged Hearts of Oak shot-stopper Benjamin Asare to maintain a strong attitude as he continues his rise in Ghana’s national team setup.

Gaspar made the remark during a visit to Asare at the Accra Hearts of Oak training camp in Pobiman, where he also met with the club’s technical team.
During his interaction, Gaspar praised Asare’s work ethic and attitude.
“The willingness, the capacity, the capabilities of the goalkeepers — I love the attitude. Good attitude, good things happen. Bad attitude, nothing good happens,” he told Asare.

Gaspar also commended Hearts of Oak goalkeepers’ trainer Abdul Issah Gazale for his work with the squad, saying he was “impressed” and hoped to return for further observation in the coming days.
Gaspar is one of five new backroom staff appointed to support Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz, a move announced by Ghana Football Association (GFA) Media Director Henry Asante Twum during Queiroz’s official unveiling on April 23, 2026.

Gaspar brings extensive experience working alongside Queiroz with national teams including Portugal, Iran, Colombia, and Egypt, as well as at the club level.
The pair are known for their emphasis on defensive organisation and disciplined goalkeeping structures.
Meanwhile, Asare earned his first Black Stars call-up in March 2025 for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
He impressed under former coach Otto Addo, starting in Ghana’s recent friendly against Germany.

The Hearts of Oak first-choice goalkeeper was also in the post during Week 31 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League against Nations FC, keeping a clean sheet to take his tally to 12 for the season.
