57 PWDs in Kumasi Receive Cash and Item Support from KMA

Fifty-seven persons with disabilities in Kumasi have received cash and items from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to support their livelihoods and education.
The distribution was done by the Social Welfare Department at the KMA Forecourt on Thursday.
Beneficiaries received assistance under business support, education, health, and skill development categories aimed at helping them become more self-sufficient.
Speaking at the event, Kumasi Mayor Hon. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi said the government has increased the Disability Fund allocation from 3% to 5%.
He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support to improve their lives and contribute meaningfully to society and stay in touch with the Social Welfare Department for continuous monitoring and future support.
The Mayor added that the Assembly remains committed to promoting inclusive development and ensuring that persons with disabilities are not left behind in the city’s growth agenda.
