4 Injured in Bus-Taxi Crash at Konongo
Four people sustained injuries after an STC bus collided with a Kia Picanto taxi near Next Bon Gas Filling Station last night, the Ghana National Fire Service has confirmed.
Firefighters from the Konongo-Odumasi Fire Station responded to the scene and found both vehicles badly damaged.
The impact left the taxi’s engine compartment destroyed and one passenger trapped inside the wreckage.
Bystanders had already rescued three of the injured persons and rushed them to Steward Hospital before fire personnel arrived.
The GNFS crew then worked to extricate the fourth victim, who was pinned in the taxi, and ensured he was taken to Asante Akyem Central Hospital for medical attention.
No fatalities were recorded in the crash.
The GNFS said the cause of the accident is under investigation by the relevant authorities.
The Service has reminded drivers to exercise caution, particularly at night and around high-traffic areas like filling stations, to help prevent similar incidents.
