5 Arrested Over Murder of Jirapa Dubai CEO

The police have arrested five persons in connection with the murder of Mr Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 4-star luxury safari resort Cossy Hill Hotel at Jirapa in the Upper West Region.

One of the suspects was earlier arrested on Sunday before four more were rounded up by the police later the same day.

Though the circumstances leading to his death are still unknown, the police say he was found in a pool of blood in one of his hotel rooms on February 11, 2024.


“The deceased was found on 11th February 2024 lying in a pool of blood in one of the rooms at the hotel,” the police said in an earlier statement in which it also disclosed one person, Kumbata Kwaku, had been detained with Regional Crime Scene Management Team visiting the scene of the incident.

In a later statement, the police disclosed four more persons had been nabbed, with all being the deceased’s employees.


They were identified as Dookuuri Fausta, Braimah Kasim, Beyuo Felix and Michael Klugey.

They are said to be in police custody assisting in investigations.


Meanwhile, they disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare had deployed a team of investigators and experts led by the Director-General/CID to collaborate with the Upper West Regional Police Command to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.
