Three Students Arrested For Destroying School Properties

The police have arrested three immediate past students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School for destroying school property in an incident captured on a viral video.

School authorities lodged a complaint on Friday, June 19, 2026, reporting that about five former students had unlawfully damaged the school’s water pipeline after writing their final exam before leaving for their homes.

Following intelligence-led surveillance, police apprehended three of the students. They are Rashid Suraj Dakpo, 19; Alhassan Mohammed, 20; and Abdul Kadri Abdulai, 20.

The suspects have been handed over to the Regional Investigations Department to assist in the investigations and will be processed to face a criminal trial.

The Command said efforts are still underway to arrest the remaining two students seen in the video.

The Volta North Regional Police Command observed that the act of destroying school property after final exams is becoming increasingly common and thereby warned that any student found engaging in such conduct will face the full rigours of the law.

The Command also urged parents, guardians and teachers to continue cautioning their wards about the legal consequences of vandalism.
