Shatta Wale, Medikal Partner GoldBod to Promote Made-in-Ghana Jewellery Globally

Award-winning Ghanaian music icons Shatta Wale and Medikal have partnered with the Ghana Gold Board to champion locally made gold jewellery and push Ghana’s gold value addition agenda.

The two artistes paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., to formalise a strategic collaboration that will see them use their platforms to promote GoldBod Jewellery both locally and internationally.

As part of the partnership, Shatta Wale and Medikal pledged to showcase and promote Ghanaian-crafted gold jewellery through their music, public appearances, social media, and major international engagements.

Shatta Wale is expected to feature the pieces prominently during ShattaFest UK and other global events, spotlighting the quality and craftsmanship of products made in Ghana.

Welcoming the initiative, Mr Sammy Gyamfi described the collaboration as a major boost for the country’s jewellery industry.

He said the partnership will help strengthen Ghana’s position as Africa’s premier hub for gold value addition while creating sustainable employment opportunities for artisans and young people in the sector.

“This is about more than music and fashion. It is about national development,” Mr Gyamfi stated. “When we promote Made-in-Ghana products, we create jobs, we add value to our natural resources, and we build a stronger national economy.”

The move aligns with the government’s broader agenda to move Ghana beyond the export of raw gold and capture more value within the country through finished jewellery and branded products.

Industry players say leveraging the influence of top musicians like Shatta Wale and Medikal will help shift consumer preference toward locally made jewellery and project Ghanaian craftsmanship to international markets.
