Second and Third Batches of Ghanaian Evacuees in South Africa Return on June 6 and 7

The Ghana High Commission in South Africa has announced that the second and third batches of evacuees will respectively depart for Ghana on June 6 and June 7, 2026.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, the High Commission instructed all individuals scheduled for the evacuation flights to report to the mission on the eve of their evacuation.

The session will cover pre-departure arrangements, document verification, and a final briefing for travellers.

The mission also asked anyone on the approved evacuation list who no longer intends to travel to notify the High Commission by 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Officials said this will create room for other eligible applicants to be accommodated on the flight.

Parents and guardians travelling with children are required to present all necessary travel documentation, including consent letters where applicable, Road-to-Health Cards, and/or child weighing cards.

The High Commission confirmed that travellers issued with Emergency Travel Certificates will receive their documents at the airport on the day of departure.
