Gang Behind Recent Jos Bakery Robbery Convicted

The Kwabenya Circuit Court has convicted a gang of two armed robbers who attacked Jos Bakery’s head office at Dome.
The two got a cumulative sentence of 25 years imprisonment after they were found guilty.
According to a police statement, the two identified as Justice Akwasi Sarfo Oppong, 20, and Isaac Agbezudor, 19, attacked the staff of the company on May 11.
“The suspects, riding an unlicensed motorbike, fired a locally made pistol into the air to instil fear in the victims and made away with a Tecno Pop 8 smartphone valued at GHC1,500 and a handbag containing personal effects.”
The Regional Police command launched investigations into the incident, which led to the arrest of Isaac Agbezudor on May 14, 2025 through a covert operation.
The confession of Isaac Agbezudor during interrogation led to the retrieval of key exhibits, including the motorbike and clothing used in the operation, and the identification of his accomplice.
On 22nd May 2025, following intelligence operations, Gariba Manta was arrested at a mining site between Osino and Saaman, a police report said.
“He subsequently led police to a hideout at Sonitra, Amasaman, where the pistol and live ammunition used in the robbery were retrieved.”
Isaac and Gariba were arraigned and convicted on their pleas and sentenced by the Court to 10 years imprisonment on two counts to run concurrently and 15 years imprisonment respectively.
