Sam George Swears In Two New Members to NCA Governing Board 

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has sworn in two new members to the Governing Board of the National Communications Authority (NCA).

The new appointees are Prof. Agyapomaa Gyeke-Dako, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Ghana Business School, and Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, Chairman of the Hajj Board and former Member of Parliament for the Yagaba-Kubori Constituency.

The appointments are to replace two late members of the Board.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Hon. George said the additions bring valuable expertise to the Board as it continues to provide strategic direction for the regulation of Ghana’s telecommunications, broadcasting, and digital innovation space.

 

Prof. Gyeke-Dako is expected to contribute her economic and academic expertise, while Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim brings experience in public service and governance.

The Minister urged the new members to work with management and other stakeholders to support the government’s digital transformation agenda and ensure the NCA remains responsive to emerging technologies and consumer needs.

The NCA Governing Board is mandated to oversee policy implementation, regulatory frameworks, and the general administration of the Authority to ensure a robust, competitive, and consumer-focused communications industry in Ghana.
