GoldBod Warns Public Over Fake AI Videos of CEO Soliciting Money

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has cautioned the public against AI-generated videos circulating on social media that appear to feature its Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, Esq.

In a public notice issued by the Board, GoldBod said it has become aware of the fake videos being used to target unsuspecting individuals online.

The Board stressed that it will never ask members of the public to send money, transfer funds, pay fees, or share banking or mobile money details through social media, phone calls, or messaging applications.

GoldBod advised anyone who receives such requests purporting to be from the CEO or the Board to disregard them and report the matter immediately through GoldBod’s official communication channels.

The Board further urged citizens to remain vigilant and to verify information before acting on it, with the reminder to “verify before you trust.”
