V/R: Motorbike Rider Dies on the Spot after Commercial Vehicle Collision

A motorbike rider has been confirmed dead on the spot after his bike collided with a commercial vehicle at Logba Akutsame in the Kpando Municipality.

The Ghana National Fire Service reported that personnel from the Kpando Municipal Fire Station responded to a distress call at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2026.

The crash involved a Hyundai 14-seater commercial vehicle with registration number GL 118–13 and the motorbike.

Firefighters carried out a rescue operation and successfully extricated 11 occupants who were trapped in the commercial vehicle.

The motorbike rider was, however, pronounced dead at the scene. His body was later handed over to the Ghana Police Service for preservation and further investigations.

Following this, the GNFS has renewed its call on motorists and riders to obey road safety regulations and exercise caution on the road.

The Service said strict compliance with traffic rules remains key to reducing crashes and preventing needless loss of lives.
