Profile of the Five Forwards Expected to Feature Against Mexico at Puebla

Mexico’s Tricolor will face Ghana’s Black Stars in an international friendly match on Saturday at 2:00 am local time.

The Black Stars will be playing for the first time in a competitive game after the appointment of Carlos Queiroz, although it has been reported that he will not be on the dug-out due to personal reasons.

Assistant coach Desmond Offei will be in charge of the team in Puebla against Mexico in the absence of the head coach and will be assisted by Daniel Gasper and Gregory De Grauwe, a goalkeeper’s trainer and set-piece/video analyst.

The reports gathered indicate that five strikers, Joseph Opku, Prince Amoako, Ibrahim Osman, Felix-Afena Gyan, and Daniel Agyei, have reported to the team’s camp in Mexico, and any of them could have a place in the first team.

Daniel Ebenezer Kwasi Agyei has gotten his second call-up to the team after his debut call-up during Otto Addo’s regime; together with him, Derrick Luckassen, Marvin Senaya and Patrick Pfeiffer got their maiden call-ups under the former gaffer.

Daniel Agyei is a player of Kocaelispor of the Turkish Süper Lig and has played 30 league games and scored five (5) goals. Agyei was born in England and played for Leyton Orient, Crewe Alexandra, Oxford United and Burnley before moving to Turkey.

Felix Afena Ohene-Gyan makes a return to the Black Stars after his first call-up on 25th March, 2022, where he scored his first goal for the Black Stars at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Gyan is currently on loan to Amedspor, a Turkish second-tier side competing in the TFF 1. Lig. He has played in 35 league games, scored five goals with six assists, and his side occupies the second position on the league table.

Ibrahim Osman has been called to the Black Stars for the first time in his career. The Birmingham City striker has featured in the EFL Championship 18 times in the season, with goals against Leicester City and Preston, and double assists against Queens Park Rangers and Preston.

Joseph Amankwaah Opoku, a winger for Belgian Pro League outfit Zulte Waregem, has recorded 10 goals with 3 assists. Joseph has had a stint with the Black Satellites of Ghana during the U-20 AFCON in Egypt in 2025.

Prince Amoako Junior is an attacking midfielder for FC Nordsjælland in the Danish Superliga. The Ghanaian is a product of the Right to Dream Academy. Prince signed his first professional contract on February 25, 2025, and scored his first goal in the top-flight league, FC Fredericia, in Week 1 of the season.

Prince has scored nine goals in all competitions and assisted six times after 30 league game appearances in his first season in the Danish elite campaign.
