V/R: 3 Dead, 17 Rescued in Kpeve Road Crash

Three people have died while 17 others have been rescued after a commercial vehicle crashed near Woadze along the Kpeve–Asikuma road.
A statement by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Monday said personnel from the Peki Fire Station responded to a distress call at 0958hrs on Friday, May 22, 2026.
The team extricated 13 adults and four children who were trapped in a Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle, registration number GR 8231 C.
The vehicle was travelling from Abotuase to Ningo in the Greater Accra Region with 20 passengers on board – 11 males, five females, and four children.
The vehicle reportedly sustained severe damage in the crash.
Three adults, two males and one female, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Kpando Divisional Command, and the Ghana Ambulance Service from Afadjato and Juapong conveyed the injured and deceased to Kpando Government Hospital and Peki Government Hospital for treatment, preservation, and further investigations.
The GNFS said the cause of the accident is under investigation and urged motorists to observe road safety regulations and avoid excessive speeding.
