Police Service Interdicts Five Officers Over Viral Videos

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted five personnel captured in viral videos engaging in conduct deemed to bring the Service into disrepute.
The affected officers are Chief Inspector Matthew Blay, Chief Inspector Francis Arthur, and Inspector Eric Osei, all of the Osu Police Station in Accra; Sergeant Amos Dery of the National Protection Unit (NPU); and Inspector Joseph Okyere Asabre of the Obuasi Police District.
The five have been handed over to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) for investigation in line with the Service’s internal disciplinary procedures.
In a statement, the Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, integrity, and accountability, assuring the public that appropriate action will be taken upon conclusion of the investigation.
The Service did not disclose the specific content of the viral videos or the nature of the alleged misconduct.
The interdiction is the latest in a series of disciplinary actions by the Police Administration aimed at enforcing ethical standards and restoring public confidence in the Service.
