The Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Francis Asenso Boakye, has denied any engagement with a nursing student over unpaid allowances before the 2024 general elections.
He affirms that he has never been responsible for the administration of nursing trainee allowances, nor had any direct portfolio in the health sector in the course of his career as a public servant.
“It is therefore strange, incoherent, and deeply misleading for my name to be associated with this matter,” he stated in a press statement on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
This is in response to a lady’s viral allegation that the lawmaker downplayed her concerns about the non-payment of trainee allowances when she had an encounter with him.
In reaction, Asenso Boakye said the allegation is ‘false, baseless, and a deliberate attempt to drag my name into needless political propaganda.”
“There is no nursing training institution in my constituency, Bantama. While Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has a nursing school, it does not fall under the Bantama constituency. I therefore have no direct constituency dealings with nursing trainees.”
He therefore urged the public to disregard it completely.
“Anyone who knows the identity of the lady in the said video should kindly provide her details.”
He emphasised that he remained focused on serving his constituents and contributing to national development.
