Otumfuo Refers Emena Chieftaincy Dispute to Committee

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has referred the Emena chieftaincy dispute to a four-member committee.
The committee members are Yabehene, Wadie-Adwumakasehene, Pramsohene, and Otumfuo Kyeame Banahene.
The committee was constituted during the Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on July 9, 2026, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The case revolves around a royal dispute involving the family head, Opanin Kwame Adusei; a Dikro, Opanin Kofi Afrifa; and Abena Achiaa, the Obaapanin. The three are disputing the ownership of the Emena stool.
At the meeting, Otumfuo charged the committee to investigate the family trees of the feuding parties and identify the bona fide owners.
“Don’t take long to present your findings,” Otumfuo added.
