Otumfuo Smiles Dental Outreach Screens Over 1400 Pupils in Effiduase

The Otumfuo Smiles Dental Outreach Team has screened 1,480 pupils in Effiduase, Sekyere East District, delivering essential dental care services to improve oral health outcomes among school children this week.

The exercise, which began on June 23, saw the team visit schools across Effiduase to provide scaling and polishing, extractions, and fillings.

The outreach covered Effiduase Pentecost JHS, Effiduase R/C Basic School A, Effiduase R/C Basic School B, Effiduase Experimental Basic School, and Effiduase Methodist Basic School.

According to the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, the intervention is part of its commitment to ensure every child has access to quality dental care and the opportunity to maintain a healthy smile.

Under the theme “Everyone Deserves a Smile,” the Otumfuo Smiles program focuses on early detection of dental problems and preventive education in underserved communities.

The Effiduase exercise forms part of broader efforts to expand access to health services for vulnerable groups across the Ashanti Region.
