N/R: IGP Deploys Special Team after Murder of Benin Nationals in Tamale

The Inspector-General of Police has deployed a special team to Tamale to assist the Northern Regional Police Command in investigations into the deaths of two females whose bodies were found in a room at a Hotel on Monday.
The team includes investigators, intelligence officers, and a crime scene team from the National Police Headquarters to assist the Northern Regional Command with the investigations.
According to a press release signed by the Regional Commander, DCOP Mr Wisdom Lavoe, the bodies were discovered on August 3 following a report from hotel management.
The deceased, believed to be Benin nationals, were subsequently conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
“Preliminary investigations have commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths, identify the deceased persons, and liaise with the relevant authorities to facilitate contact with their families,” the statement said.
The Command also urged any member of the public with credible information on the incident to call the Police Emergency Numbers, 191 / 18555, or report to the nearest Police Station.
