Kwasi Kwarteng, Assembly member for Dote electoral area, has stated that the Kumasi City Market (Kejetia market) needs proactive, visionary and strict management to effectively steer the affairs of the ultramodern facility.

He desires that management put in place disaster preventive measures and strictly enforce compliance to be able to guarantee the safety of the market, traders, clients and properties .

He believes that management members cannot sit in the comfort of their offices thinking that traders and other stakeholders will do the right thing. He adds that the welfare of the market should be a major priority of management.

“It seems authorities in the market care for themselves more than the work they applied for due to politics”, he said.
