Here Are Breaks Within 2026/2027 Academic Year for SHS

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released key break periods for Senior High Schools and Senior High Technical Schools in the 2026/2027 academic calendar, providing parents, students and school heads with a clear guide for planning.

According to the timetable released on June 1 2026, SHS students will break for Christmas from Saturday, December 19, 2026, to Monday, January 4, 2027.

The Easter break follows from Thursday, March 25, to Tuesday, March 30, 2027.

Form 2 students on the transitional track will observe a mid-semester break from Thursday, June 17 to Sunday, June  20, 2027.

Meanwhile, final-year students will write the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, from Tuesday, April 6, to Friday, June 18, 2027.

The GES Management urged all stakeholders, including school heads, teachers, parents and students, to take note of the academic calendar and prepare accordingly.
