WASSCE 2027 Begins on April 6

Final-year Senior High School students will sit for the 2027 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from Tuesday, April 6, to Friday, June 18, 2027, the Ghana Education Service has announced.
This was contained in the 2026/2027 academic calendar for SHSs and SHTSs released by GES Management on June 1, 2026, which covers both Single Track and Transitional Schools.
The WASSCE window spans about 10 weeks, giving candidates time to sit all core and elective papers.
The examination starts just after the Easter break, which runs from Thursday, March 25 to Tuesday, March 30, 2027.
The GES urged school heads, teachers, parents and students to take note of the dates and prepare accordingly.
The Service said early planning will help schools complete the syllabus and candidates revise adequately ahead of the exams.
Meanwhile, Christmas break for SHS students is scheduled for Saturday, December 19, 2026, to Monday, January 4, 2027.
