Group to Hold Procession to Thank Akufo-Addo

Patriotic Forum for Accountable Governance (PaFFAG) has notified the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare about its intention to hold an appreciative procession at the Jubilee House for 36 days.

A letter by the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye, said their action would start at 8 a.m. and end at 7 pm each day.

They intend to begin on December 1 and conclude on January 5 with the intent of expressing appreciation to the President for his response to the Covid pandemic.

“The purpose of this procession or assembly is to express our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency President Akufo-Addo for sustaining the nation through the Covid-19 pandemic and setting the nation on the path of economic recovery.”

According to him, the protest is meant to afford individuals the avenue to show appreciation to the President.

It continued, “We have carefully selected 37 bus stop to the Jubilee House as the route to the demonstration due to its visibility and accessibility.”

It is not known if they will have their way after efforts by Democracy Hub, another pressure group, to picket at the Jubilee House last month was hampered by the police.

At the time, the police said the Jubilee House was a security zone.
